Job description

The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for purchasing of direct and indirect materials as well as the logistics  to/from sub suppliers and final product delivery to customers. 

Responsibilities

This is not an exhaustive list, but is a general guide of the main duties of the role:

  • Send requests for quotes to suppliers and subcontractors for required products and services in line with  MRP, project and enquiry team needs.
  • Raise purchase orders in line with system and project requirements.
  • Control costs within project spend parameters for projects.
  • Undertake governance with suppliers to ensure good OTIF in line with project needs and the right cost.
  • Provide a timely and accurate response to any supplier issue and escalate where necessary.
  • Anticipation of risks to the supply chain and seek solutions to minimise impact on OTIF.
  • Organisation of appropriate transport and documentation for deliveries to sub suppliers and customers
  • Progression and monitoring of incoming supplier/sub supplier  certification.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service is emphasised at all levels.
  • Liaise with Quality and Engineering departments to resolve any supplier Quality issues.
  • Compile data on supplier performance and work with the Supply Chain Manager to resolve any issues and  develop improvement plans.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience using MRP systems
  • Experience in Engineering/Manufacturing Environment (desirable)
  • CIPS Level 4 (desirable)
Role specific compliance requirements include but are not limited to:
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
  • Pass the BPSS security check
