Project Manager
Working pattern: 37 hours per week; Monday – Thursday 07:45 – 16:15 & Friday 07:45 – 12:45.

Job description
The Project Manager is responsible for the management of customer contracts. They will ensure that all customer project requirements are fully documented, effectively planned and delivered, including the on-time delivery of quality assured and technically certified products and services.
Responsibilities
- Work closely and communicate effectively with the customer and cross-functional teams to plan and define scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and schedule for contracts.
- Drive cross functional collaboration between teams to ensure the delivery of customer orders on-time in-full, meeting all defined customer requirements, meeting the schedule and commercial performance targets.
- Understand and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives.
- Monitor cost and spend against product and project costs to quickly identify variance from profitability targets and report cost to complete metrics.
- Identify project risks and opportunities across the contract lifecycle, ensuring implementation of mitigations in a timely manner to minimise project impact. Maintain contract risk registers, issue logs and action plans for reporting internally and to the customer.
- Produce and communicate contract status reports for the customer, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and report process performance measures.
- Ensure the project status and its performance is visible throughout the business to allow issues and risks to be understood, resolution identified, and action plans implemented.
- Support forecasting and financial planning, escalating issues for senior management attention and resolution.
Experience
- Degree or equivalent in a Technical or Commercial discipline.
- Accredited and recognised Project Management qualification or will have an equivalent level of experience in commercially focused project management roles.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager on specialised manufacturing projects – referably in a global defence/aerospace/energy business.
- Strong leadership skills and able to demonstrate evidence of influencing and team working capabilities.
