Chesterfield Special Cylinders (CSC) is proud to announce the award of a significant contract to supply air pressure vessels for the Royal Australian Navy’s Hunter Class Frigate programme.
This contract, awarded by BAE Systems Maritime Australia, marks an important milestone in the first batch of three frigates and underpins Pressure Technologies Group’s global defence order book for the second half of FY24. Manufacturing is set to commence later this year, with pressure vessels being delivered over the next three years. These vessels will be integral to the safety-critical onboard systems of the Hunter Class frigates.
The Hunter Class frigate is based on BAE Systems’ established Type 26 Global Combat Ship platform, which is currently under construction for the UK’s Royal Navy.
Chris Walters, Chief Executive of Pressure Technologies plc, commented,
I am delighted to confirm this major contract for Chesterfield Special Cylinders, which reinforces our capability to deliver pressure vessels for the Royal Australian Navy’s Hunter Class Frigate programme.
This contract not only strengthens CSC’s collaboration with BAE Systems but also highlights our expertise in delivering specialised engineering and manufacturing capabilities on a global scale.
