Process Manager Joining & NDT
Working pattern: Monday – Thursday: 07:45am – 16:15pm and Friday: 07:45am – 12:45pm
Salary: £50,000-£55,000 per annum (depending on experience/qualifications)

Job description
There are two main purposes for this role:
- Be the business NDT Level 3 and thus process expert, understanding the customer requirements and ensuring all the work instructions are compliant to the needs of the relevant standards and the customer needs.
- Be the process owner for shotblast, all inspection techniques, welding and painting.
As well as ensuring base standards of the owned processes are clear the job owner is also expected to develop improvement strategies for their processes to support business growth via new products, lower cost or improving quality standards. The role will also address deviations and concessions where required, conduct investigations and determine corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- As Level 3 NDT, the job holder will develop, maintain and approve UT and MPI procedures, ensuring they enable the required standards/customer specifications to be achieved.
- Work with contracted Level 3 NDT consultants to develop and maintain required procedures in additional NDT techniques.
- Set training and competency standards for the inspection team with training material from internal or external providers as appropriate.
- Ensure all tasks within the process managers process remit have a current and up to date Risk Assessment & Standard Operating Procedure.
- Ensure all processes under the manager’s remit have a trained assessor to ensure the operator using their processes can be trained to the correct standards.
- Ensure the maintenance team are aware of the process parameter control needs and have a strategy in place for each piece of equipment to maintain the quality and customer needs at each process.
- Ensure any improvements/changes to the process rules are managed through the Management of Change process and communicated via the shift management.
- Support the Supply Chain Manager and Quality team in the development of sub contractors who are customers of or suppliers of the processes within the remit of the manager.
- Work with the QC Engineer and the Shift management to audit adherence to the rules of the processes under the remit of the manager.
- Develop non capital and capital improvement plans to improve process resilience and the processes to support business growth via quality or cost improvement or product development.
- Work with customers and the technical sales function to enable the latest available non destructive techniques for a competitive advantage.
- Work with technical sales and project management to quote and onboard new projects with a specific focus on added value of CSC capabilities of the processes owned by the job holder.
- Investigate non conforming product which has been through one of the processes under the remit of the manager.
- Support the Project Manager to investigate customer complaints and put corrective actions in place if changes to process parameters/controls are needed
- Translate customer technical needs into operational procedures and practices.
- Carry out root cause investigations into material rejections or failures which are due to defects or processing failures within CSC, at suppliers, or at subcontractors.
Experience
To be successful for the role you will need to evidence:
- Experience of making and sustaining controlled change
- Level 3 in UT (Fittings) & MPI
- Relevant qualifications in welding and/or inspection of welding (Desirable)
- Minimum 10 years experience in the use of NDT in safety critical environments
- Detailed knowledge of a wide variety of inspection techniques
- Worked and operated in a Lean manufacturing environment for 5+ years (Desirable)

NDT Technician Level 2
Working pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 06:30 – 16:15. Flexibility will be required for potential offsite/offshore deployments.
Salary: £19.23 – £23.39 per hour (£36,998 – £45,002 per annum) – depending on Qualifications & Experience
